Tournament rules season 2007
1) The BDP will run a minimum of 22 tournaments per year. These will normally be held on a Saturday afternoon. Some Sundays may be included. Where possible County/Super League matches will be avoided.
2) Rankings and attendance points will be awarded which will count towards qualification for the Grand Final as follows:-
Attendance (subject to entry fee being paid)=5 points NOTE: TO QUALIFY FOR THESE POINTS PLAYERS MUST HAVE COMPLETED A FULL GAME . i.e. BEST OF 5 LEGS 501 START
Tournament winner = 5 points + attendance points
Runner-up = 4 points + attendance points
Semi finalist = 3 points + attendance points
Quarter finalist = 2 points + attendance points
9 - 16 = 1 point + attendance points
3) Players must register and be in attendance by 12.30pm when the 1st round will commence. It is at the discretion of the tournament organiser to allow late entries.
4) The organiser will undertake to complete the tournament by no later than 7.30pm. Time permitting a 1/2nd round losers or blind pairs competition may be run. (Format to be announced on day)
5) All games will be straight start and double finish. Early rounds will be best of 5 legs, with the final the best of 7 legs. THE FULL BUST RULE WILL APPLY.
6) WINNERS to report to control. It is up to the player to check their score after each throw.
7) Prize to be given to furthest ladies/youth. (Youths to be 17 or under).
8) In the event of a tie for the furthest lady/youth a playoff will determine the winner. Games to be 501 best of 5 legs.
9)LOSERS are REQUESTED to mark the following game. If for any reason they are unable to do so it is up to them to find a replacement marker. A penalty has been introduced for players not marking(either themselves or a replacement not found), Failure in this matter will result in the player only receiving TWO points for attendance instead of FIVE points. So for example player A gets to semi final and leaves without marking next game, will only get TWO points and no bonus points.....
